Tony Chachere
I ws in a hurry to get something for a Church potluck dinner on Saturday, and I stumbled upon Tony Chachere’s Red Beans and Rice ready-made in a jar (it doesn’t appear on the web site yet). Given Tony’s mysterious last name and former successes in the seasoning department, I gave it a try. Boy am I glad I did. There’s a gumbo mix too, so look for it in your favorite store (I got it in Wal Mart). So far I’ve only found those two varieties, so let me know if you find others. And, by the way, they’re made in Canada (which, like Louisiana, is also of French origin).
