Have You Played Atari Today?

I was looking at this website (which makes me feel like a terrible, useless, worthless excuse for a designer pretty much because the dude is my age and light years [distance, yes] ahead of me in terms of coding and scripting, and well, design ability) and i came across this website, which features old Atari and Cabbage Patch Doll commercials. It’s pretty funny to watch. Have fun, and don’t stay up too late.

This game is like Othello. We like that in our family. It is cool.

Do you know of other sites to play other cool Atari games? Neave’s site is awesome.

Joe Z linked me to 2dplay.com the other day, and they’ve got a ton of games there. I played a golf game, which was pretty good.

By the way, the JC Penney Christmas catalog has an Atari joystick that includes 10 classic Atari games in the joystick itself. You just plug it into your TV and play. Granted, it’s a little bit thicker than the old joysticks, but, man, isn’t that cool? You can fit 10 games into the joystick now!

By the way, didn’t they catch the phallic nuances of the term joystick when they invented the thing?

I found a cool link on the web today that pointed to old advertisements with cartoon elements. I really enjoy this old style of integrating great illustration with hand-lettering and otherwise great design craft. I found one of these ads with a great limerick on it.
