GI Joe Kidnapped!
Well, really his name is “Cody.” One needs to be a bit cautious about how these things are reported, but I would imagine even our troops in Iraq are amused by this one. This breaking story indicates that the US soldier “kidnapped” by the Mujahedin Brigades in Iraq may really be a toy.
I don’t know whether to laugh or be outraged. Did the terrorists buy the doll themselves or steal it from a kid somewhere? Does this fascination with dolls help us to profile the terrorists as frustrated adults whose playtime as kids was interrupted by commando training? Have the Mujahedin recently dropped their age requirement? Is this a secret advertising campaign by Dragon Models to promote their action figures? Is Hasbro going to take this sitting down?
