Lego Advertisements

These Lego advertisements are a nostalgic look back at being a kid and using your imagination when playing in the living room. To me, they’re a perfect mix of advertising and art. On one hand, they pitch the Lego brand to consumers. On the other hand, they shake your memory so hard that it’s impossible not to daydream about being 10 years old laying on your stomach, crashing two Lego’d cars together and exploding the pieces. And this has nothing to do with being a consumer.

Those ads are awesome. Well said Danny-do. There is overwhelming nostalgia tied to those pictures. It really makes you wonder what happens to that type of imagination and fun - and why? Why would we lose that as we get old?

I found a cool link on the web today that pointed to old advertisements with cartoon elements. I really enjoy this old style of integrating great illustration with hand-lettering and otherwise great design craft. I found one of these ads with a great limerick on it.
