Stuff White People Like

Now, THIS is funny. Pat, please take notes. It’s very funny, and very true, in many ways. Pat Urda sent this to me a few weeks ago - telling me I should read the recycling and biking posts, because it was me. I then sent out emails to friends, saying “this is you” and including a link to marathoning or in Dan’s case indie music. I sent Megan the artsy ones (there are lots).

So the deal is this, comment on which ones you think most fit others in the family. Like this is Pat.

Take a look and get into the comments (NPR also did a pretty good segment on the site - they interview the site’s creator).

OK. Kind of funny, a little bit. BUT that NPR segment is the worst ever, not because of the dude or the reporter, but because all the calls are “Hey, hah hah, I’m white, too, because I found some things that I do on your blog! Isn’t that so cool! OK, bye.” The poor reporter is like, “Uh, OK, thanks for your call!”

Then again, the site is only marginally funny. I think Seinfeld does much better with his observations about the way people are.

You are right, Seinfeld is funnier. (for a while I thought you may have lost your sense of humor completely). But just because the site isn’t as funny as Seinfeld, doesn’t mean it’s marginally funny - it’s more than that - at least overall. Good point on the NPR story.

Meh. Dave sent this to me last week. It was good for a chuckle or two.

“I am Meh.”
